SCDCL knows that when the community calls, the Laborers answer. That’s why Laborers Local 783 partnered with Pastor BJ Sims and Kingdom Culture San Bernardino to take on a demolition project that will help transform their facility into an even more powerful resource for the over 300 families they serve.
More than a place of worship, Kingdom Culture is a hub of community support, civic engagement, and meaningful outreach. The facility houses a Family Resource Center, operated in partnership with Children and Family Services and endorsed by Mayor Helen Tran and Chief Darren Goodman. The center also hosts non-partisan programs like Coffee with a Cop, Democratic Club meetings, and other events that bring residents and local leaders together.
At the heart of the center’s community engagement is the Trust & Community Meetings, where leaders like District Attorney Jason Anderson, Sheriff Shannon Dicus, Chief Darren Goodman, Thomas Sone (San Bernardino County Public Defender), Tracey Reese (Chief Probation Officer), and others meet to discuss public safety, crime reduction, and solutions that bring lasting impact.
The planned remodel—including a new stage and expanded facilities—will enhance Kingdom Culture’s ability to serve San Bernardino residents, increase programming, and deepen its impact throughout the community.
Laborers are proud to build strong infrastructure, but equally proud to support those who build stronger communities. SCDCL and Local 783 are honored to stand alongside Kingdom Culture in their mission of service, connection, and collective progress.
Together, We Build. Together, We Rise.
