These members support major public and private projects across the region. Their work includes mixing materials for plasterers and fireproofing, setting up the job sites, scaffolding, cleaning, and more. It’s demanding work, but it’s work that lasts.
Recently, we joined LIUNA Plaster Tenders Local 1414 on the jobsite and in the classroom to hear firsthand how union work is changing lives. Hear directly from the members of Local 1414 who are building their future with pride.
At this year’s Scholarship Awards Ceremony hosted by Laborers Local 300, students and families shared moving words of gratitude for the union and their loved ones who made their achievements possible. As a donor, The Southern California District Council of Laborers (SCDCL) is proud to support this important investment in the next generation and we thank all the other donors who made this opportunity possible.
This last week the memorandum of understanding to bring the UCR Health Canyon Springs Medical Campus to life was signed. This commitment will bring healthcare to the Inland Empire where the community needs it most. This project is a partnership between UCR Health, TDA Investment Group, and the Construction Laborers Pension Trust for Southern California, which owns the land. It means good union jobs today and secure pensions tomorrow. An investment in both community health and our member’s wellbeing.
